We take pride in sharing that School of Architecture, D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Kolhapur is the only autonomous architecture institute in Maharashtra. We got the autonomous status in 2020. Autonomous status has helped us in shaping our curriculum to match with industry needs. I being the alumnus of School of Architecture have witnessed growth of the school since its inception. Started in 1984 with student strength of 30, today we stand as a powerful Institute with strength of 424 students and over 1500 alumni. We have experienced good old days of handmade drawings using rotring ink pens and pencils and today we see paradigm shift in architectural education as digital technology is helping the students to present their creativity in better fashion. The source of internet has made it simpler to browse the information whenever needed. Advanced software have transformed the way drawings are presented. Remaining in tandem with this changing world, we at School of Architecture are committed to give best of the infrastructure to our students. We believe in comprehensive development of students. Along with academics, they are equally engaged in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. They are nurtured through various workshops, seminars, expert talks, industrial visits, national and international study tours etc. School of architecture actively runs various clubs viz. Sketching Club, Heritage Club, Photography Club and Nature Club. We are also a part of Arcause Clubs of Ethos Foundation. Through the club activities, students acquire various skills and awareness about nature and heritage of India. We have IGBC student Chapter and are Institutional Member of Indian Plumbing Association. Through their activities, students remain connected with industry and get awareness about various developments. Our MoUs with reputed Architecture Institutions in India are giving platform for the students to explore various thinking patterns. We are proud to state that our alumni are spread all over the world and doing good work in the field of Architecture. Alumni overseas are invited for webinars through which a fare dialogue between them and students takes place. They happily provide intellectual contribution towards their alma matter. The seed planted by great visionary Hon. Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil alias Dadasaheb has became a large tree with moral thoughts and guidance of President Hon. Dr. Sanjay D. Patil , Vice President Hon. Satej D. Patil, Trustee Hon. Ruturaj S. Patil, Respected Executive Director Dr. A. K. Gupta, Principal Dr. S. D. Chede, Registrar Dr. L. V. Malade and sincere efforts of all faculty and students. |
